Landing After Hours: Lincoln University Civilian Private Program - CANCELED

At the dawn of World War II, the Civilian Aeronautics Authority invited a few historically Black colleges and universities to participate in the Civil Pilot Training program, including Lincoln University. The Jefferson City Airfield hosted the program and provided integrated ground classes to Lincoln and Jefferson City Junior College students. After training, several Lincoln alumni served at home and abroad as U.S. Army Air Corps Tuskegee airmen. Join Michelle Brooks as she tells the story of the program and the airmen.

 

The Missouri State Museum's "Landing After Hours" program” is held the first Wednesday of each month at the Jefferson Landing State Historic Site, 100 Jefferson St. The Lohman Museum will be open from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the program will start at 7 p.m. in the first floor classroom. Convenient parking is available in the lot next to the Lohman Building.
