Birding on the Boardwalk

8/3/2019 | Annie and Abel Van Meter State Park | Miami, MO

Join us at the small shelter house for a birding event held in collaboration with the Missouri River Bird Observatory. During this program, Paige Witek, education coordinator for MRBO, will be teaching attendees how to identify some commonly found birds, as well as how to properly use binoculars. After her short tutorial, she will be leading participants on a hike down to our boardwalks, where they will have the chance to put their newly learned skills into practice.

This event is free and open to the public. Participants with varying levels of birding knowledge are welcome. We recommend using sunscreen and insect repellent and wearing footwear suited for hiking. Trail terrain is fairly smooth and flat.
