Missouri Archaeological Society Fall Symposium

The Missouri Archaeological Society Fall Symposium will be held at Battle of Athens State Historic Site shelter house.  This event is being co-sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Missouri Archaeological Society. The Fall Symposium is an annual event held throughout the state in honor of Missouri Archaeology Month. 

The morning activities will consist of presentations by professional and amateur archaeologists about the Archaeology Month theme, “Vessels of the Past.”  This will be followed by an on-site catered picnic lunch. There will be a charge for lunch.

A walking tour of Battle of Athens State Historic Site will follow lunch.  From there, you may drive to Iliniwek Village State Historic Site for another walking tour.
