6/29/2019 | Cuivre River State Park | Troy, MO
Cuivre River State Park invites you to join us at the equestrian trailhead day-use area for an event to recognize the hard work and accomplishments of the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps crew and park staff/volunteers on the equestrian trails.
Cuivre River State Park applied for and received a grant to sponsor an AmeriCorps NCCC crew for seven weeks to make needed repairs and perform maintenance work on the park's equestrian trail system. The team has worked alongside park staff and volunteers to clear vegetation from the trail corridor, remove fallen trees, and make repairs to the trail tread to allow for proper water drainage. Park staff would like to recognize the team for their work and accomplishments not only in the park, but in our community as well, where they have spent much of their time off volunteering for local nonprofit organizations.
During the event, visitors can learn more about the AmeriCorps NCCC program, hear about the work that was completed on the trails, and learn about local equestrian organizations. The Backcountry Horseman of Missouri and our local chapter (Cuivre River Trail Riders) will provide information on the organization and about Leave No Trace ethics. The Backcountry Horseman and our local chapter will provide light refreshments for the event. Visitors are encouraged to bring a chair. For more information about this event, call the park office at 636-528-7247.
