Historical Children's Festival

5/18/2019 to 5/19/2019 | First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site | St. Charles, MO

Come celebrate the city of St. Charles' sestercentennial and National Kids to Parks Day at the historic site’s annual Historical Children's Festival. Come live and play as children in the 1820s did. Hear interesting stories about life in St. Charles when our first legislators were struggling to organize Missouri into statehood. Children can pick up a passport and journey through the 1820s while participating in period hands-on activities like butter churning, quill pen writing, washboard and tub, and more to earn prizes. Activities will also include reenactment groups, period skills demonstrations, music and more! Fun for everyone! This is a free, family event.

Event times:
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This event is one of many events Missouri State Parks is hosting in celebration of the National Park Trust's Kids to Parks Day! Click here for a complete list of events in Missouri state parks and historic sites throughout the state.
