First Day Hike

1/1/2019 | Thousand Hills State Park | Kirksville, MO

Ring in 2019 with a walk on the wild side! This naturalist-led hike will be approximately 2.5 miles long on rugged terrain, but at a leisurely pace, on Red Bud Trail (signs will be posted). The trail and time of year offer a great opportunity to see not only fantastic scenery, but abundant winter wildlife, including waterfowl, deer, bald eagles and more! Photography and binoculars are welcome, and the park will have some binoculars available to borrow for those who wish to use them.

Make sure to wear weather appropriate clothing and comfortable hiking shoes. Bringing a water bottle is recommended.

Hike time: 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Meeting Location: Red Bud Trail Trailhead (on the hill by the lake)
