Water Festival

7/21/2018 | Rock Bridge Memorial State Park | Columbia, MO

Have fun with water and learn about streams and animals that live in streams through activities designed for children and families. Staff with several agencies and organizations will provide activities and displays, including catching aquatic animals in the stream; seeing live hawks, fish and turtles; using an interactive stream model; finding what watershed you live in; learning about pollution in rivers; and exploring Connor’s Cave. The nearby Devil’s Icebox Spring Branch is best for younger children, while Gans Creek provides an adventure for older children. Both streams will be staffed and nets provided. Signs will direct people on the 300-meter-long hike to Gans Creek.

This event has grown to include the University of Missouri’s Raptor Rehab. This event is co-sponsored by Boone County, Missouri Stream Teams, the Friends of Rock Bridge Memorial State Park and the park.
