Labor Day Weekend Events

Friday
  • 7 p.m. - Nature in the Fall - Campground Amphitheater
    Do you know how nature changes in the fall - besides the leaves?  How do creatures and plants prepare for winter?  Washington State Park staff will present a program on the changes in nature during the upcoming fall season. This program is approximately one hour.
Saturday
  • 2 p.m. - Petroglyph and Glade Tour – Petroglyph Site
    This guided interpretive walk highlights two of Washington State Park’s unique features. The walk begins with a tour of the ancient Native American rock carvings and then ventures out into to the glade, where visitors will learn about life on this unique landscape. This program is approximately one hour.
  • 4 p.m. - Naturalist Hour – Big River Day-Use Area
    Meet at the Big River Day-Use Area water access for Naturalist Hour! Learn about nature and the Missouri State Parks Explorer Patch Program and the Washington State Park Discovery Patch Program. This program is approximately one hour.
  • 7 p.m. – Bike Safety and Bike Parade – Campground Amphitheater
    Bring your bicycle and learn about bike safety when you ride this fall. After the bicycle safety presentation, a bike parade will take place through the campground. This program is approximately one hour.
Sunday

    Park staff will lead a short, guided hike for visitors to witness the signs of the upcoming fall season. This program is approximately one hour.
  • 7 p.m. – Movie Night – Campground Amphitheater
    Washington State Park presents movie night with popcorn at the campground amphitheater. 
Monday
  • 9 a.m. – Naturalist Hour – Campground Amphitheater
    Meet at the campground amphitheater for Naturalist Hour!  Learn about nature and the Missouri State Parks Explorer Patch Program and the Washington State Park Discovery Patch Program. This program is approximately one hour.
