Great American Campout Weekend

Friday
  • 7 p.m.  - Camping Safety and Scavenger Hunt - Campground Amphitheater
    Join park staff as they begin the Great American Campout weekend with a program on camping safety.  Then, they will kick-off a weekend long scavenger hunt through Washington State Park.  For more information on the Great American Campout, visit https://www.nwf.org/Great-American-Campout.  This program is approximately one hour.
Saturday
  • 2 p.m. – Petroglyph and Glade Tour – Petroglyph Site
    This guided interpretive walk highlights two of Washington State Park’s unique features. The walk begins with a tour of the ancient Native American rock carvings and then ventures out into to the glade where visitors will learn about life on this unique landscape. This program is approximately one hour.

  • 4 p.m. - Naturalist Hour – Campground Amphitheater
    Meet at the campground amphitheater for Naturalist Hour!  Learn about nature and the Great American Campout scavenger hunt. This program is approximately one hour.

  • 7 p.m. - Campfire Safety and S'mores Contest – Campground Amphitheater
    One of the best parts of camping is building and spending time around the campfire!  Join Washington State Park staff as they educate on campfire safety for your next campout. Then, gather around the campfire for a s'mores contest!  Pick a category and compete to create the best s'more. All the s'more basics will be provided. This program is approximately one hour.
Sunday
  • 9 a.m.  - Naturalist Hour – Campground Amphitheater
    Meet at the campground amphitheater for Naturalist Hour! Learn about nature and wrap up the weekend-long scavenger hunt. This program is approximately one hour.
