Opening Sketches of War: Editorial Cartoons Representing WWI by Daniel Fitzpatrick

The Missouri State Museum in collaboration with the State Historical Society of Missouri is presenting "Sketches of War: Editorial Cartoons Representing WWI by Daniel Fitzpatrick," from March 6 to May 19, 2018, in the Elizabeth Rozier Gallery. The exhibit can be viewed Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Daniel Robert Fitzpatrck, editorial cartoonist for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch from 1913-1958, created cartoons covering local and world events during his 45 years with the paper. Sketches of War will focus on Fitzpatrick's cartoons produced during and immediately after the Great War.

The public is invited to this free opening reception. Dr. Joan Stack, curator of art collections at the State Historical Society, and Jamie Henry, assistant director of the Missouri State Museum, curated the exhibit. They will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the exhibit. Refreshments will be provided.

Reception time: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
