Canceled: First Day Hike

1/1/2018 | Bennett Spring State Park | Lebanon, MO

Due to the predicted low temperatures, this hike is canceled.

Start the New Year the healthy way by joining park ranger Bobby Sharp for a guided hike along Savanna Ridge Trail. The trail is 2.5 miles and consists of an open woodland along a ridge overlooking the east side of Spring Hollow. The trail makes use of roads used by people living in the area from the 1840s to present.  It consists of dirt, mud, gravel, shifting rocks, slippery surfaces, roots, steep grades and inclines more than 10% with occasional water over the trail. I hope you can “Come out and play” with our awesome park ranger!  Wear comfortable shoes and dress weather appropriate.

Hike time: 10 a.m. - Noon
Meeting location: Savanna Ridge/Natural Tunnel trails trailhead

This hike is part of a national First Day Hikes initiative by America's State Parks. For more information and a list of other First Day Hikes in Missouri State Parks, click here.
