Missouri and the Great War

This event, “Missouri and the Great War,” will give visitors a taste of what Missourians experienced during the Great War. Experience life abroad and life at home during the war in the museum’s exhibit halls.

Resources Hall : “Missourian Experience Abroad”

Guided tours: (45 minutes) 10 a.m. - Noon and 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

On a tour, experience the journey of a soldier. Here you will be drafted into the Army, trained, shipped to France, learn about the front, write letters home, and then be discharged upon the war’s end.

History Hall: “Missourian Experience at Home”

10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

This hall will feature ongoing activity stations. Experience how civilians at home became involved in the war effort. Learn how children and their parents helped support soldiers abroad and how those at home coped during the war. 

This event is free and open to the public.
