Water Festival

7/15/2017 | Rock Bridge Memorial State Park | Columbia, MO

Have fun with water and learn about streams and animals that live in streams through activities designed for children and families. Staff with several agencies will provide displays or activities including catching aquatic animals in the stream, using an interactive stream model, finding what watershed you live in, learning about fish and pollution in rivers, and exploring Connor’s Cave.

From 10:30 a.m. to noon, participate in a guided hike of about 3/4 mile to Gans Creek for more water fun and use of nets to catch aquatic animals.

This event has grown to include a Missouri Department of Conservation fisheries biologist and Missouri River Relief. This event is co-sponsored by Boone County, Missouri Stream Teams, the Friends of Rock Bridge Memorial State Park and the park. It is free and recommended for ages 4 years and up. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Registration is not necessary.
