Humans have been captivated by birds since the moment we turned our gaze up to see them fly. There is one group of birds, however, that seems to truly own the skies: Raptors! These winged predators have long seized our awe and imagination as surely as their talons seize the prey that they hunt. We admire their ferocity and grace, but can often only do so from afar.
Meet at Point Shelter for a unique opportunity to see these aerial hunters up close! The Raptor Rehabilitation Project of University of Missouri, Columbia, will be presenting a program, along with some of their birds - from tiny falcons, to fearsome hawks, to mysterious owls. Get an up-close and personal glimpse into the surprising, wonderful and even weird lives of raptors!
This program is free and open to the public, and anyone is welcome to attend! Please bring a lawn chair or towel to sit on. There will be restrooms with flush toilets nearby, along with cold water hydrants to fill (or refill) any drink containers. We hope to see you there! Click here to read the news release.
