Pulling for Bats by Pulling Out Invasive Bush Honeysuckle

10/29/2016 | Rock Bridge Memorial State Park | Columbia, MO

Help bats by protecting their habitat and killing bush honeysuckle that causes havoc in the woodland ecosystem. Learn about the ecological connections, how to identify bush honeysuckle and look-alikes, and how to treat these non-native invaders. We will pull small bushes and use loppers and handsaws to cut larger bushes – a few of us will follow behind to paint the cut stumps with herbicide.

Meet at the Devil's Icebox trailhead. Bring water and leather gloves, and dress for walking off trail. Tools and training will be provided. Free. This event is recommended for ages 8 years and up. Preregistration is requested but not required. Please call 573-449-7400.

Event time: 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
