Friday, May 27

Popcorn Social
Campground Host Site – 7 p.m.
Come by the Campground Host Site (Site #1) to meet and greet park staff. Learn about the exciting programs and special events at Washington State Park and enjoy some popcorn. 

Saturday, May 28

Petroglyph and Glade Tour
Petroglyph Site – Noon
This guided interpretive walk highlights two of Washington State Park’s unique features. The walk begins with a tour of the ancient Native American rock carvings and will then venture out into to the glade, where visitors will learn about life on this unique landscape.

Wildflower and River Bottom Walk
Thunderbird Lodge – 2 p.m.
A short hike along 1,000 Step Trail will give visitors a chance to view a wide variety of plant life and some early spring wildflowers. The walk will then lead guests along the edge of the Big River to learn just how important this body of water is to the surrounding area. 

Naturalist Hour
Big River Day-Use Area – 4 p.m.
Meet at the beach area of the Big River Day-Use Area for Naturalist Hour! Learn about the ecology of the Big River and life among the water. Participants will also learn about the Missouri State Parks Explorer Patch Program and the Washington State Park Discovery Patch Program. 

Storyteller Flavia Everman Presents
Campground Amphitheater – 7 p.m.
Join us as special guest storyteller Flavia Everman weaves stories to intrigue all ages around the campfire. Be sure to also pick up a coloring page for Sunday evening’s program. 

Sunday, May 29

Naturalist Hour
Campground Host Site – 4 p.m.
Visitors can join park staff in learning about the Missouri State Parks Explorer Patch Program and the Washington State Park Discovery Patch programs. Be sure to also pick up a coloring page for Sunday evening’s program. 

All About Bats
Campground Amphitheater – 7 p.m.
Park staff will present a program all about bats!  Learn about these flying creatures and help to create a bat mural. 

All programs will last approximately one hour.
