Museum After Hours: The Life and Shoes of Charles Tweedie

1/6/2016 | Missouri State Museum | Jefferson City, MO

Charles Tweedie was the man behind some of the finest shoes made in Jefferson City, many at the Tweedie Footwear factory formerly located on the site of Jefferson Landing State Historic Site.  From women’s fashion shoes to war-time tents, join us at the museum to learn more about this shoe pioneer. Local historian Henry Gensky will share the life of Charles Tweedie and how he helped to shape Jefferson City, one step at a time.

The program continues the museum's ongoing series, "Museum After Hours," held the first Wednesday of each month. In addition to the program, the museum's galleries will be open until 9 p.m.

The program will be held in the Missouri State Museum's History Hall, located in the east wing of the Missouri State Capitol.
