7/31/2015 | Mark Twain State Park | Florida, MO
Families and sky lovers of all ages are invited to enjoy a midsummer astronomy program at the park. On July 31, watch as July’s Blue Moon rises over Buzzard's Roost on Mark Twain Lake. This is the second full moon in the month, an event that will not occur again until 2018. Learn about the features and phases of the moon and the folklore surrounding full moons. Bring camp chairs or blankets to sit on, bug spray and a red-filter flashlight that will not affect your night vision. Meet at Buzzard's Roost Picnic Area.
Event Time: 8:30 p.m.
