Friday:
7 p.m. - Get to Know Washington State Park, Campground Amphitheater
Join park staff for a town hall-style meeting to get to know us and the park. You ask the questions, we’ll have the answers. We will be playing a family-friendly game of Nature BINGO so be sure to come ready to play! This program will last approximately one hour.
Saturday:
Noon - Petroglyph Glade Tour, Petroglyph Site
This guided interpretive walk highlights two of Washington State Park’s unique features. The walk begins with a tour of the ancient Native American rock carvings and will then venture out into to the glade, where visitors will learn about life on this unique landscape. This program will last approximately one hour.
4 p.m. - River Bottom Walk, Thunderbird Lodge
A short hike along 1,000 Step Trail will give guests the chance to view a wide variety of plant life and learn about the history of Washington State Park and the young men who built it. The walk will then lead guests along the edge of the Big River to learn just how important this body of water is to the area around it. Weather and conditions permitting. This program will last approximately one hour.
7 p.m. - Herpetology Hour, Campground Amphitheater
Missouri is home to a wide variety of reptiles and amphibians. Join the park naturalists at the amphitheater to learn about some of these reptiles, and get up close and personal with a few! This program will last approximately one hour.
