Friday:

Get to Know Washington State Park
7 p.m., Campground Amphitheater
Join park staff for a town hall style meeting to get to know staff and the park. You ask the questions, we’ll have the answers. We will be playing a family-friendly game of park-tionary so be sure to come ready to play! This program will also include things you can do to make your camping experience safer for you and those around you. This program will last approximately one hour.

Saturday:

Petroglyph and Glade Tour
Noon, Petroglyph Site
This guided interpretive walk highlights two of Washington State Park’s unique features. The walk begins with a tour of the ancient Native American rock carvings then ventures out into to the glade, where visitors will learn about life on this unique landscape. This program will last approximately one hour.

Bicycle Safety Program
2 p.m., Campground Amphitheater
Learn the do’s and don’ts of bicycle safety to make riding not only safer, but more enjoyable for all around. This program will last approximately one hour.

River Bottom Walk
4 p.m., Thunderbird Lodge
A short hike along 1,000 Step Trail will give guests the chance to view a wide variety of plant life and learn about the history of Washington State Park and the young men who built it. The walk will then lead guests along the edge of the Big River to learn just how important this body of water is to the area around it.  This program will last approximately one hour.

Bear Aware Program
7 p.m., Campground Amphitheater
Black Bear sightings are increasing daily across the state. Join the park interpreter to learn more about this large mammal, and how you as a camper can coexist safely, and even help keep numbers increasing! This program will last approximately one hour.
