Learn firsthand about rural life more than a century ago as costumed interpreters demonstrate springtime activities at the Watkins Farm. Activities will include sheep shearing, a rare breeds livestock display, heirloom garden planting, blacksmithing, woodstove cooking, rag doll making, toy construction and more. This event is free of charge. Tours of Watkins Mill will be available for a fee. The Mount Vernon Church and Franklin School will be open to the public.
Watkins Woolen Mill State Park and Historic Site will also be celebrating 50 years as a state park and historic site. For further information, contact the park.
