6/1/2013 | Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park | Middle Brook, MO
In December 2005, raging waters raced down Proffit Mountain and into Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park, stripping the mountainside to bedrock. Join the naturalist as we read the story of violent volcanoes and ancient seas. This moderately-rugged 2-mile loop trail takes you across loose rocks and several shallow water crossings. Please wear appropriate clothing and hiking boots or tennis shoes (no smooth soles!). Bring plenty of water – it will likely be hot! This hike will take approximately two hours to complete.
Hike time: 9 a.m.
