Walk and Wade Hike

4/28/2012 | St. Joe State Park | Park Hills, MO

Experience several faces of the park on this unique all-day hiking adventure, which will combine three different hiking experiences into one. In addition to hiking approximately 5 miles of wooded horse trail and paved bicycle path, you will wade a one-quarter-mile stretch of Harris Branch Creek for a more intimate glimpse of the park's natural side.

Pack a light day pack with lunch, water and an old pair of tennis shoes for the creek. Hiking conditions in places will be strenuous, rocky and possibly very muddy, so this hike may not be recommended for children under age 10. Meet at the Blankshire Trail trailhead parking lot on Pimville Road, near the main park entrance.
