"Civil War Missouri: A House Dividing" Exhibit Opening Family Activity Day

This family-friendly event will occur in conjunction with the opening of a major exhibit at the Missouri State Museum, "Civil War Missouri:  A House Dividing."Check out the activities below

  • 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. - River Ridge String Band will play Civil War era music in the first floor rotunda of the state Capitol.
  • 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. - "Decisions" (focusing on secession) will be presented by staff.
  • Civilian, Union and Confederate reenactors will be in the History Hall of the Missouri State Museum.
  • The new exhibit, featuring Missouri's Civil War battle flags and other historic Civil War artifacts, will be in the History Hall.
  • Interpretive programs on Civil War artillery, "Ready, Aim, Fire" and on Civil War infantry, "Marching and Drill" will be held on the south lawn of the Capitol.
  • 2:30 p.m. - Holmes' Brigade will perform reenactment of a Union infantry drill on the south lawn of the Capitol.
