Landing After Hours: The History and Culture of Missouri’s Motorcycle Clubs

9/4/2024 | Missouri State Museum | Jefferson City, MO

Like much of the country, Missouri has an extensive history of motorcycle clubs. While some clubs have had encounters with the law, a good number of today's groups work hand in hand with local charities and are notable members of the community. However, this has not always been the case.

Join Chief Museum Interpreter Carrie Hammond for a look into the origins of motorcycle club culture and the decades old stain left by the criminal atrocities of Missouri's Missing Links Motorcycle Club of the 1970s.

The Missouri State Museum's Landing After Hours program is held the first Wednesday of each month at Jefferson Landing State Historic Site, located at 100 Jefferson St. Doors to the site's Lohman Building open at 6:30 p.m., and the program begins at 7 p.m. Convenient parking is available in the lot next to the Lohman Building.

In addition to being held in person, the program will also be livestreamed on the Missouri State Museum’s Facebook page. Did you know? You don't have to have a Facebook account to view Facebook videos or live programs. Simply follow the link and enjoy: facebook.com/MissouriStateMuseum.
