The Big Chill: A Homemade Ice Cream Demonstration

8/10/2024 | Battle of Lexington State Historic Site | Lexington, MO

Battle of Lexington State Historic Site is helping kick off the Lexington Community Fair with a homemade ice cream demonstration at the park on Aug. 10!

Summer is a great time to enjoy homemade ice cream but was it around in the 1850s and 1860s? YES! Historic flavor choices would not make the top 10 list of popular flavors today. Join us at 3 p.m. in the visitor center to learn how homemade ice cream has changed, but stayed the same. Taking a turn on the hand crank will “earn” you a free sample of homemade ice cream!

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the historic site office at 660-259-4654.

Event Time: 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
