4/8/2024 | Meramec State Park | Sullivan, MO
Join us at Meramec State Park on Monday, April 8, to experience the 2024 solar eclipse!
While we will not have a total eclipse here at Meramec, obscuration, or the percentage of the sun blocked by the moon, will be as high as 98.8%. The eclipse will last from 12:40-3:16 p.m., with its peak occurring at approximately 1:59 p.m.
This event will take place in the boat ramp area near the park store. Visitors should bring chairs or blankets to sit on, food and drinks to enjoy, and eclipse glasses for safe viewing of the eclipse. For those who don’t have eclipse glasses, some will be available for purchase at the event. It is never safe to look directly at the sun without proper protection, so eclipse glasses are absolutely necessary during this event.
This event is free and open to the public, and registration is not required. For more information, call the park office at 573-468-6072.
Event time: 11 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
