Seniors to Parks Program

Crowder State Park will be hosting a Seniors to Parks event on Saturday, May 4. This event intended for seniors citizens will begin at 10 a.m. at the Camp Grand River Recreation Hall. Join us for the presentation "Native Ground: The First People of Missouri Before Statehood" and a bus tour to the Thompson Cemetery and Thompson House. Lunch will be provided.

Dr. Brad D. Lookingbill is a distinguished professor of history at Columbia College. Dr. Lookingbill will be providing information about the multiple tribal groups that made Missouri home prior to the arrival of Europeans.

The Friends of the Thompson House will be at the house to discuss their recent projects and improvements. 

This event is free, but space is limited, and preregistration is required. To register, call the Crowder State Park office at 660-359-6473 by noon on May 2, 2024.
