Senior citizens, this program is for you. Join us for your very own Archaeology Day on Tuesday, April. 16! Activities will include a presentation about archaeology at Mastodon State Historic Site, a chocolate chip cookie excavation, atlatl throwing, an "ask an archaeologist" session with Missouri State Parks archaeologist Rachel Campbell, an optional guided hike to the Kimmswick Bone Bed, free lunch, and more!
This program will begin at the historic site museum but will include optional outdoor activities. The outdoor activities, including atlatl throwing and the guided hike, may be canceled if inclement weather occurs. Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes.
This is a FREE program made possible by Seniors to Parks. Any seniors may attend. Registration is REQUIRED. The registration deadline is April 9. To register, click here and find the event listing, or call the historic site office at 636-464-2976.
