Wings Over Weston is the largest one-day birding festival in the Midwest with a unique niche – children. Wings Over Weston’s mission is to introduce birds, migration and the importance of conservation of habitat to children, the birders of tomorrow. The festival has more than 30 stations, including build a house or feeder, Bird Olympics, The Great Migration game, live birds from Operation Wildlife and Raptor Rehab, bird banding with Missouri River Bird Observatory, hummingbirds, face painting and more!
The event will take place at the park’s Bee Creek Shelter. The entrance road to the shelter is south of the park’s main gate off Highway 45.
Wings Over Weston is a partnership between Burroughs Audubon and Missouri State Parks and includes participation from Missouri Master Naturalists, Missouri Department of Conservation, City of Weston, Platte County Parks and Recreation, National Audubon and Midland Empire Audubon.
