First Saturday Lecture: Native American Artist Rueben Iron House-Kent

Come to the historic site for a presentation and reception for Native American artist Rueben Iron Horse-Kent.  Rueben is a member of the Buffalo Clan of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska. Following the lecture, there will be a reception and opening of a show of Rueben’s works, which will be in the historic site gallery through the end of June. The show will feature his works in various media, including ceramic art, paintings, textiles and sculptures. His works have been featured in several art books and have appeared in collections including the Smithsonian American Indian Art Museum, the Institute of American Indian Arts, the Heritage Museum at Pine Ridge, S.D., and the Southern Plains Indian Museum.  The lecture and reception are free and open to the public.
