Kids fish for free at the park each year on the Saturday before Mother’s Day weekend. Kids 15 and under can pick up their required “free fishing tags” at the registration booth near the fish cleaning station the night before the event from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. or all day Saturday during the event. All children must pick up their tag before fishing. A special designated fishing area will be provided for children only; however, children can fish anywhere in the park. This event contains prize drawings for fish. For more information, call Montauk State Park Fish Hatchery at 573- 548-2585.
Fishing hours: 6:30 a.m. - 8:15 p.m.
