Hike trails in the Gans Creek Wild Area (moderate, 2.25 miles). Hike a dry section of Gans Creek (weather dependent) with towering bluffs above you and reach the top of Shooting Star Bluff for a scenic view. Learn about how geology affects plants and animals and hear readings from a diary of a young man who lived on this land in 1891.
This event is free. Reservations are required because space is limited. When you call 573-449-7400, you will be given driving directions to the meeting location. Reservations for First Day Hikes at Rock Bridge can be made now through 5 p.m. on Dec. 29, but will not be taken on Dec. 30 or 31 or Jan. 1.
Not recommended for children 4 and under unless carried by an adult. Prefer no dogs. Not stroller accessible. Footwear should be sturdy and preferably water resistant. To find out if canceled, call 573-449-7400.
