7/15/2017 | Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site | Ash Grove, MO
Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic is kicking off a new season of "Third Saturdays at the Homestead" starting July 15. Explore and interact with Missouri's frontier past through a variety of hands-on activities. Programs will be hosted at a variety of locations throughout the site and are appropriate for all ages. All events are free and open to the public.
Whitewash was an affordable paint used not only on the White House in Washington, D.C., but also on the Nathan Boone and Olive Homestead. Join site staff to learn how whitewash is made and lend a hand whitewashing the fence around the Boone home!
Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather, wear appropriate footwear and bring plenty of water to drink. In the event of inclement weather, events may be canceled.
Event times: 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
