Montauk Arbor Day

3/26/2016 | Montauk State Park | Salem, MO

Come to the park’s Arbor Day event to celebrate the often overlooked benefits trees provide. From our own personal health to our protection from weather and soil erosion to the mysterious world of our wildlife, come and explore with us what one little twig can become if nurtured and cared for properly and the overwhelming benefits it will someday provide!  Free tree seedlings will be handed out to park visitors at the Dorman L. Steelman Lodge (while they last). Take time to grow a tree for future generations. Trees will be provided courtesy of Missouri Department of Conservation’s George White Nursery. Visitors can also sign up for special drawing for rare Ozark chinquapin (chestnut) seed. This special event is co-sponsored by Missouri State Parks in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Conservation.
