Walk the trails, explore and learn about the park at your own leisure on these three self-guided tours. Find the numbered self-guided handouts at each trailhead. Please note that the handout for Hike 1 can be found at the trailhead for North Ridge Trail, not Bear Creek Trail.
Hike 1: Bear Creek Trail
- This hike is a quick walk to the river’s edge along Bear Creek. Watch for the numbered stops, and learn about native fish, the river, and Lewis and Clark.

Hike 2: North Ridge Trail
- Learn about the infamous trader Pensineau, river survey markers, and the need for scrap metal during the world wars.

Hike 3: West Ridge Trail
- Learn about Lewis and Clark, local flora and fauna, and the unique geology of the bluffs.

These hikes are free and open to the public, and there is no need to register. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.
