Statehood Day and Public Meeting

at First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site

8/10/2026 | First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site | St. Charles, Mo.

Join us at First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site to commemorate the 205th birthday of our great state! The historic First Capitol building will be open for self-guided tours, and we will have a scavenger hunt and other family-friendly activities in the backyard! These activities will be available from noon to 4 p.m. Plus, there will be a Missouri birthday cake for you to enjoy while supplies last.

As part of Missouri State Parks' annual public meetings initiative, there will be booths with information about First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site, as well as Edward "Ted" and Pat Jones-Confluence Point State Park and the eastern section of Katy Trail State Park. Staff members from these facilities will be available from noon to 4 p.m., while Missouri State Parks leadership will be available from noon to 2 p.m. Stop by to learn about these facilities, ask questions and provide feedback.

This walk-up-style event is free and open to the public. There is no registration, and you are welcome to browse and stay as long as you like. For more information, call the historic site at 636-940-3322 or visit us at 200 S. Main St. in downtown St. Charles.

About Public Meetings at Missouri State Parks and Historic Sites:

Input from the public is important to Missouri State Parks. These public meetings, which are being held for all state parks and historic sites, help create two-way communication with the public. The meetings give representatives the opportunity to let people know the current statuses and future plans for the parks and sites, and they offer visitors the opportunity to comment on the facilities.
