First Day Hike

1/1/2025 | Thousand Hills State Park | Kirksville, MO

Ring in 2025 with a guided hike! Park staff will lead a leisurely 2-mile hike on Red Bud Trail on New Year’s Day. The hike will begin at the trailhead by Forest Lake and will go along the lake, through woodlands, and across rugged terrain.

This event is free, open to the public, and suitable for all ages. Participants should wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable hiking shoes, and they are also encouraged to bring water. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash.

Thousand Hills State Park is located 2 miles west of Kirksville on Highway 157. For more information, call the park office at 660-665-6995, or visit the park's Facebook page to check the status of the hike.
