Join us at First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site for our annual celebration of International Archaeology Day! This free event features family-friendly archaeology activities and self-guided tours of the First Capitol building.

This year, we are partnering with Project Archaeology, an educational organization dedicated to teaching scientific and historical inquiry, cultural understanding, and the importance of protecting our nation’s rich cultural resources. Come see how archaeologists use findings from their environment to learn about the past. 

The event will begin at noon and end at 3:30 p.m. There is no registration, and you are welcome to browse and stay as long as you like. The archaeology activities will take place in the backyard and inside the interpretive center.
