First Day Walk

Come out to St. Francois State Park on New Year’s Day for a First Day Walk in the Big River Day-Use Area. This easy walk will consist of a 1.1-mile paved loop and should take about a half hour to complete.

Participants are encouraged to wear good hiking shoes, dress appropriately for the weather, and bring water and snacks. Vault toilets will be available near Shelter 2, but the park's water will be turned off. Leashed dogs are welcome provided they are respectful to other participants and are cleaned up after.

This event is free, open to the public, and suitable for all ages. The walk will begin at Shelter 2.
