Burn Ban in Effect at Montauk State Park Until Further Notice
A Stage 2 burn ban is in effect for Montauk State Park, in conjunction with a countywide burn ban for Dent County. This restriction prohibits all outdoor fires, including campfires, and other open-flame conditions. It includes solo stoves and propane fire pits. The ban will remain in place until further notice.
Gas lanterns, contained charcoal fires with cover, and liquid- and gas-fueled stoves remain authorized.

Montauk Mill
Montauk Mill, a gristmill built in 1896, still stands today as a testament to the once-thriving community of Montauk. The mill was the last of four mills built to make use of the ideal waters of Montauk Spring. Much of the original machinery used to grind the grain is still intact.
