Spooktacular

10/24/2026 | Wakonda State Park | La Grange, Mo.

Wakonda State Park will host its annual Spooktacular Halloween event on Saturday, Oct. 24. The event will take place in the Boulder Lake and Wakonda Lake campgrounds from 3-7 p.m. Activities will include a campsite decorating contest for registered campers and campsite trick-or-treating that is open to the public.

Trick-or-treaters should park at the beach parking lot. From there, they will be shuttled to the campgrounds by tram. This is to avoid traffic congestion in the campgrounds and enhance safety. Trick-or-treaters are encouraged to wear costumes and bring bags to collect candy.

For the decorating contest, prizes will be awarded to the top three sites. Regular camping fees apply, but the event itself is free. Campsite reservations can be made online or by calling 877-422-6766. There is no need to register for the trick-or-treating.

Wakonda State Park is located at 32836 State Park Road, 3 miles south of La Grange in Lewis County. For more information, contact the park office at 573-655-2280.
