Dark Sky Wonders

10/21/2022 | Bothwell Lodge State Historic Site | Sedalia, MO

Looking at the night sky – gazing up at the endless stars and amazing planets – evokes a feeling of pure awe and wonder, but it is possible that in a few decades we may not be able to experience this feeling due to light pollution. However, there is something we can all do!

Come join the Camdenton Astronomy Club and Bothwell Lodge State Historic Site staff at 6:30 p.m. in the day-use area for a fascinating and informative presentation on light pollution and telescopes. After the presentation, stick around to view the stars and planets from 8-10 p.m.

This event is free and open to the public. Free refreshments will be available while supplies last. Please dress warmly and bring bug spray, chairs and flashlights.

Once inside the park, the day-use area is the first left off of Bothwell Lodge State Park Road. In the event of rain, the program may be be postponed and held the following day, Oct. 22, from 6-10 p.m.
