Candlelight Open House

at Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site

The Candlelight Open House is Hunter-Dawson's annual 1860s-themed Christmas event. The 2026 event will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Dec. 11 and 12. Both nights, the Hunter-Dawson House will be aglow with oil lamps and candles and decorated with fresh greenery, Christmas trees and Victorian-style ornaments. Staff will be dressed in period clothing and available to answer questions.

Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site is located at 312 Dawson Road in New Madrid. The open house is free and open to the public. There is no need to register.
