Where will you be during the once in a lifetime eclipse event? Learn about astronomy during the daytime, such the sun and moon, seasons, and the astonishing event of a total solar eclipse. Interpretive stations will be set up in the day-use area for visitors to get a hands-on learning experience between 10:30 a.m. and 1p.m.
The partial eclipse will start at 11:49 a.m., with the total eclipse occurring at approximately 1:16 p.m. The total eclipse will last about two-and-a-half minutes. Eclipse sunglasses/viewers will be available to share with participants to look at the sun safely. Be prepared for total darkness at this event. All artificial lighting will be banned during the time of the total eclipse.
Even though the event is over at 2 p.m. feel free to stay as the partial eclipse will continue until approximately 2:43 p.m.
