Join us at Meramec State Park for an event where timing and placement is everything….a Total Eclipse of the Sun!
It will begin around 11:40 a.m. and will end approximately at 2:45 p.m. This "Ring of Fire" will last for 2 minutes and 32 seconds with it's peak around 1:17 p.m.
Viewing the event will require proper safe solar sunglasses/viewers. These items are available at the park's visitor center, and on the day of the event, will be available at the campground booth and at our event site for $1.
The event will be staged at the large Meramec River canoe launch area, where parking, seating areas and restrooms are available. So bring your lawn chairs, blankets and snacks. Interpreters will be on hand to assist visitors and answer questions. Interpretive programs will be held between 11 a.m. and 30 p.m. Come see the sun’s corona…the crown in the sky!
