Family History 101: People, Places and Things to Explore Your History

Join history professionals from Kansas City and the surrounding areas at Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center to share your family history and learn how to better understand and preserve it. Whether you’re wondering if you should donate your mom’s teacup collection, want to know how to organize your family photos, or are eager to share your ancestry, this program is for you.

Attending organizations will include Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center, the Missouri State Historic Preservation Office, the State Historical Society of Missouri, the Missouri State Museum and Black Towns Municipal Management. Participants are encouraged to bring questions about their family history and any heirlooms or documents they are curious about.

This event is free and open to the public, and there is no need to register. Family History 101 is sponsored by Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center, Missouri State Parks, and Kansas City Parks & Recreation.
