Pike Run Trail traverses much of the undeveloped 2,256-acre Coonville Creek Wild Area and illustrates the type of wild, undeveloped landscape that characterizes wild areas in Missouri state parks. The trail includes a Northern Loop and a Southern Loop that are connected by white connector 1. In addition, there is a .60-mile backpack camp spur located on the Southern Loop. This trail may be closed after heavy rains; call the park office for status.   

You may experience:

  • Natural surface, dirt, mud, gravel, shifting rocks, slippery surface, etc.
  • Rocks, roots and/or downed vegetation on trail        
  • Low hanging vegetation
  • Steep grades and inclines more than 10 percent
  • Water/stream crossings without bridges
