Fishing

A quiet cove or secluded shoreline is not hard to find at Stockton Lake. Anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including bass, white bass, crappie, walleye, catfish or bluegill. Fishing is not allowed near the boat ramps or the marina area; there are no motor restrictions on the lake.

Boat Launch

The park has concrete boat ramps at both the marina and at Hartley Cove. There are no launch fees or motor restrictions at Stockton State Park.

Picnic Area/Playground

Stockton State Park is a perfect venue for hosting large family gatherings and special outings. Two large open picnic shelters that accommodate up to 100 guests can be reserved at a rate of $35 per day. The north shelter, which overlooks the lake, is a reproduction of the Civilian Conservation Corps and Works Progress Administration work done in the 1930s. The north shelter includes electrical outlets, picnic tables, an outdoor grill and access to restroom facilities and children's playground equipment. The south shelter located in close proximity to the marina boat launch, features picnic tables, an outdoor grill and access to restroom facilities. If not reserved, the shelters are available at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are also three main picnic areas located off of Highway 215 as you enter the park that are open to all visitors during park hours. These areas are equipped with outdoor grills, picnic tables and have a children’s playground facility located nearby.

There are also playground facilities located in the vicinities of the north shelter and both the east and west campgrounds.

Swimming

A gravel beach, with a restroom and changehouse facility, is located at the north end of the park. The beach area is not supervised by a lifeguard and is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. Also located nearby is a picnic area with tables and outdoor grills.
