The museum is a great place to begin any visit to Mastodon State Historic Site. It includes displays, artifacts, exhibits and an interpretive video, all of which reveal the secrets of the Kimmswick Bone Bed and help visitors understand the significance of the site. For many visitors, the highlight is the impressive mastodon skeleton replica, a sight that is not easily forgotten.
The video is 15 minutes long and is typically played every hour. However, if the auditorium is being used for interpretive programming, the film may not be available. Please call ahead at 636-464-2976 to check availability.
